Tag Management

The Tag Management page simplifies the tag management tasks and enables you to create, edit, and delete tags using a graphical user interface. You can either use this interface or use Custom Tag APIs to create tags.

You can view all the tags on the Tag Management page in the Controller UI. You can navigate using any of the following ways on the Controller UI to view the Tag Management page:

  • Home > Tag Management

  • <user profile> > Tag Management
Note: The Administration Console is managed by Splunk AppDynamics. Contact Splunk AppDynamics Support to update the settings.
Before you enable the tag management review the guidelines for tags.

On the Tag Management page, you can:

View Tags

The Tag management page shows a list of all tags and their associations with application, tiers, nodes, application servers, and custom dashboards. The list view includes the following details:

Field Name Description
Tag Name

The list of all the tags that you have created using Agents, Custom Tag API, or Controller.
Applied o Entity Types

Type of entities a tag is associated with. The entities are application, tier, node, business transaction, server, and custom dashboards. It also display the number of number of each entity associated with a tag.
Source

The origin of the tag. These can be, Agent, API, or UI.
Tagged Entities

The total number of tagged entities. For example, the Tagged Entities will have the value as 22 when tags are applied to 12 applications and 10 servers.
Actions

Edit and delete actions are available.

When you delete a tag, all entities associated with it are untagged. The tag will be permanently removed from the system during the next purge cycle.

To view details of a tag, click the required tag. The details view displays the hierarchical view of the entities. Only the entity types associated with the selected tag will be marked with a tick , indicating their association. The details view includes the following information:

  • Application, Tiers & Nodes: This displays the hierarchical view of the application that is associated with the selected tag. If a tag is associated to five nodes in two different applications, you can view those nodes by navigating to the specific value under Applications > Tiers > Nodes. The details are displayed in hierarchical view, so selecting an application displays the associated tiers, and selecting the specific tier displays the associated nodes. You can also search for specific application, tier, or node using the ajax search.

  • Applications & Business Transactions: This displays the hierarchical view of the application that is associated with the selected tag. If a tag is associated to five business transactions in two different applications, you can view those Business Transactions by navigating to the specific value under Applications. The details are displayed in hierarchical view, so selecting an application displays the associated Business Transactions. You can also search for specific application, or Business Transaction using the ajax search.

  • Servers: Lists all the servers that are associated with the selected tag. You can also search for specific server using the ajax search.

  • Dashboards: Lists all the dashboards that are associated with the selected tag. You can also search for specific dashboard using the ajax search.

タグの作成

タグを作成するには、以下の手順を実行します。
  1. コントローラ UI で、[Admin] > [Tag Management] ページの順に移動します。左側のナビゲーションウィンドウから [Tag Management] ページにアクセスすることもできます。
  2. 注: 「タグに関するガイドライン」を確認して、キーと値のペアの定義方法およびタグに関連するその他の制限を理解してください。
    [+ Create tags] をクリックします。
  3. [Add Tags] セクションで、タグのキーと値の情報を指定します。[+ Add] を使用して、複数のタグを追加できます。
  4. [Next] をクリックします。
  5. 注: タグ管理は、エンティティ階層に基づいて動作します。タグを設定するには、最初にアプリケーションを選択する必要があります。アプリケーションを選択したら、関連する階層の追加に進み、その後、各階層内の対応するノードを追加できます。必要なエンティティを含めた後、タグにリンクする必要がないエンティティの選択を解除することで、選択を絞り込むことができます。
    エンティティをタグに関連付けるには、次の手順を実行します。1 つまたはすべての使用可能なエンティティをタグに関連付けることができます。
    1. （オプション）[Applications, Tiers and Nodes] セクションで [Add] をクリックしてアプリケーションをタグに関連付けます。同様に、階層とノードをタグに関連付けることもできます。階層とノードの関連付けのみを保持したまま、後でアプリケーションを削除できます。
    2. （オプション）[Applications & Business Transactions] セクションで [Add] をクリックしてアプリケーションをタグに関連付けます。同様に、ビジネストランザクションをタグに関連付けることができます。関連付けられているビジネストランザクションのみを保持したまま、後でアプリケーションを削除できます。
    3. （オプション）[Servers] セクションで [Add] をクリックしてサーバーをタグに関連付けます。
  6. [Save] をクリックします。
  7. [Go to inventory list] をクリックして、[Tag Management] ページに移動します。

タグを編集

既存のタグはキーの値を変更することで編集でき、異なるエンティティへの関連付けを削除または追加できます。

タグを編集するには、[Tag Management] ページで次の手順を実行します。
  1. [Actions] の [Edit] をクリックします。
  2. （オプション）値を変更するには、次の手順を実行します。
    1. [Value] フィールドの値を変更します。キーの名前は変更できません。
    2. [Save] をクリックします。変更は値が保存されるとすぐに更新されます。古い値は、消去される前にインベントリリストに表示されますが、エンティティには関連付けられません。
    3. （オプション）[Next] をクリックして、関連付けられたエンティティを編集します。
  3. （オプション）関連付けられたエンティティを変更するには、次のいずれかまたはすべてを実行します。

    • 新しいエンティティを関連付けるには、各エンティティの [Add] オプションを使用します。エンティティの追加の詳細については、「タグの作成」を参照してください。

    • 特定のエンティティとの関連付けを削除するには、エンティティの選択を解除します。

  4. [Save] をクリックします。

タグの削除

タグを削除するには、[Actions] の下にある [Delete] をクリックし、[OK] で確定します。これにより、タグとすべてのエンティティの関連付けが削除されます。削除されたタグは、消去される前に 24 時間インベントリリストで確認できます。タグを再度使用する必要がある場合は、タグを編集できます。ただし、これは 24 時間以内に行うことができます。

動的ロールのタグの使用とアクセス

動的ロールのタグにアクセスするには、タグ管理 UI でタグを許可リストに登録する必要があります。これらのタグは、動的ロールを作成または更新するときに表示されます。

タグを許可リストに登録するには、タグ管理 UI で次の操作を実行します。

  1. タグを作成してサーバーを関連付けます。「タグ管理」を参照してください。

    タグが定義され、[Tag] リストビューで確認できる場合は、この手順を無視します。

  2. [Usage & Access] に移動します。
  3. タグベースのサーバーの動的ロールを定義するために使用するタグを検索します。
  4. 表示アイコンをクリックして、関連付けられているサーバーを表示します。
  5. タグの省略記号メニューをクリックし、[Add Access] を選択します。
  6. 他の必要なタグについても同じ手順を繰り返します。

    これらの手順は、アカウントあたり最大 15 個のタグキーに対して実行できます。

これらのタグは、動的ロールを作成するときに [Access Tags] で使用できます。
